About community-based treatment services
In Victoria, 27 community-based organisations lead the delivery of non-residential alcohol and other drug treatment and support services for adults. A total of 83 service providers operate in 16 catchments across the state.
Non-residential services for adults are delivered through catchment-based treatment streams: counselling, care and recovery coordination, non-residential withdrawal and therapeutic day rehabilitation.
Alcohol and other drug counselling
Counselling services incorporate face-to-face, online and telephone counselling for individuals and, in some instances, their families, as well as group counselling and day programs.
Care and recovery coordination
Care and recovery coordination supports integrated treatment and care pathways for people with the highest need who are at highest risk and require coordinated care.
Non-residential withdrawal services
Non-residential withdrawal services support people to safely withdraw from alcohol and other drug dependence in community settings in coordination with medical services.
Therapeutic day rehabilitation services
Therapeutic day rehabilitation offers an intensive program of counselling and support to build life skills and promote wellbeing, for example financial management and nutrition.
