Key messages
- You must be a registered immunisation provider in Victoria to order government-funded vaccines.
- Providers are encouraged to place one order per month.
- From April to September, weekly orders (at least 7 days apart) are permitted to support the winter vaccination season. During the rest of the year, orders will be accepted every 14 days if required.
- All government-funded vaccines must be ordered online via Onelink.
- Stock on hand must be reported for all vaccines. If you do not hold a vaccine, report zero (0).
- Providers must check vaccines upon delivery and store them appropriately.
Registered providers can order vaccines funded under the National Immunisation Program (NIP) or by the Victorian Government for administration to eligible cohorts.
How to order vaccines
Ordering rabies vaccine / immunoglobulin
Rabies vaccines and immunoglobulin cannot be ordered online and must be processed by a Local Public Health Unit.
Ordering post-exposure prophylaxis
- Complete the Post-Exposure Rabies Treatment Order Form or Pre-Exposure Rabies Vaccine Order Form (below).
- Stock for upcoming patient appointments should be ordered through the LPHU in which the patient resides (the website provides postcode allocation)
- Replacement stock should be ordered through the LPHU in which the health service is located (the website provides postcode allocation)
- Forms will be processed during business hours (9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday)
- Emails received outside of business hours will be actioned the following business day
- For urgent out-of-hours advice please call 1300 651 160
- Email the form to the appropriate Local Public Health Unit
- Download and complete the Patient Held Record form and for the patient to bring it to each treatment visit.
