Dads’ Group Program
In 2023-24, $2 million in grant funding was awarded to 18 community organisations and local councils to support the creation of new or expansion of existing peer-to-peer dads' groups across the state. This investment is part of the broader $86 million More support for mums, dads and babies initiative, announced in the 2023-24 State Budget.
The 18 organisations have been funded for four years (2023-24 to 2026-27) to deliver face-to-face and online sessions.
Located across Melbourne and regional Victoria, the recipients are delivering dads' groups that are tailored to the unique needs of their local community, while creating a nurturing environment where fathers from all backgrounds can connect, share experiences, and receive valuable support on their parenting journey.
The groups will share evidence-based information with new dads on early childhood health and development and strategies for self-care.
