- understands that chronic unmanaged stress can erode empathy and contribute to poor outcomes for patients at end of life, and their families
- facilitates access to appropriate supports
- encourages self-care.

- peer support
- mentoring
- clinical supervision
- employee assistance program

- palliative care consultancy service
- external professional support such as the clinician’s general practitioner and professional supervision.
