Cemetery trusts develop and implement policies to support the effective management of the cemeteries they are responsible for. Cemetery trust policies must be consistent with the requirements of relevant legislation and departmental guidelines and policies.
The department has developed policy templates for Class B cemetery trusts in consultation with stakeholders including cemetery trusts and the Cemeteries and Crematoria Association of Victoria. The templates have been developed in response to government policy, findings of the Performance support program for Class B cemetery trusts and other issues raised by cemetery trusts.
The policy templates are available for download and cemetery trusts can review and adapt the templates as required. Trust policies should be reviewed at least every two years.
As new policy templates are developed they will be added to the list of downloads below.
